Title: Digitalization and AI in Home Care: An Opportunity for Women in IT?
Population ageing is placing growing pressure on long-term care systems. In the coming years, the retirement of the baby boomer generation will coincide with a growing demand for health and care services, while workforce shortages, fragmented care structures, and limited resources are already challenging the sector today. Digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to support more efficient processes, improve information exchange, and enhance person-centered care. At the same time, (long-term) care provides a unique intersection between health, technology, and gender: care work remains strongly female-dominated, and the design and implementation of effective digital solutions require a deep understanding of care needs and practices. Using examples from home care, this presentation explores how digital transformation can contribute to more sustainable care services while creating meaningful opportunities for women to shape innovation and assume key roles in Health IT.
We warmly welcome all interested guests to attend the opening ceremony. While registration is not mandatory, it would greatly assist us in our planning.
